The Black Flag Herbal Clinic is a free anarchist clinic offering herbal support to comrades across the world.
It offers online one-to-one herbal consultations for comrades whose health has been eroded by organising, repression, trauma or the sheer endurance of surviving under capitalism.
Too often, anarchist spaces reproduce the same neglect we’re fighting against. Collective energy goes into defending communities, confronting the state, and surviving daily precarity, while our own health quietly collapses. Burnout, chronic pain and emotional fatigue become normalised.
The clinic was created as a refusal of that pattern – a rebellion against neglect and disposability culture.
What the Clinic Offers
The Black Flag Herbal Clinic offers one-to-one, highly individualised herbal support with a recognition of the many forces that shape our bodies – from nutrition and industrial agriculture, to sexual violence and state repression.
Recommendations are always unique, practical and tailored to each person’s specific context.
Herbal medicines are prepared either by me or by trusted growers and comrades internationally, harvesting and working with plants with care and reciprocity.
Who The Clinic is For
The clinic is for anarchists and people active in movements for liberation. It is for those working for a world without domination despite the challenges. It especially seeks to support comrades facing barriers to care due to repression, displacement, poverty or living without papers.
Consultations are offered remotely to make them accessible internationally.
About Nicole and the Solidarity Apothecary
The Black Flag Herbal Clinic is an offering of the Solidarity Apothecary whose mission is to materially support revolutionary struggles and communities with plant medicines to strengthen collective autonomy, self-defence and resilience to climate change, capitalism and state violence.
Herbal support is currently offered by me, Nicole Rose (she/her). I’m a clinical herbalist and and anarchist organiser based in the Westcountry of England. My lineages are English, Welsh and Irish. I’ve been studying herbal medicine for more than 16 years and completed a four-year clinical training with The Plant Medicine School in Ireland to deepen my clinical skills and practice.
My focus as a herbalist has been supporting people experiencing state violence. This includes people experiencing repression, prisoners and and their families, refugees and people on the move. Learn more here.
I started the Black Flag Herbal Clinic as a way of offering more indepth support to anarchist comrades in a structured way beyond my own 1:1 clinic. It is starting small and slow as I take care of my young child but I would love for it to evolve into a collective project in the near future that can become a separate project to the Solidarity Apothecary.
The Vision
The vision is for the clinic to evolve into a collective of anarchist herbalists, with plant medicines grown, harvested and prepared by supporters worldwide.
